Community Engagement Partner - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Partner role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with community organizations and stakeholders throughout New York City and Long Island to support Healthix's mission and strategic initiatives through outreach, event support, research, and data collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Healthix at community meetings, health fairs, and public events.
- Identify and engage in community initiatives and partnership opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between Healthix and community stakeholders.
- Research and identify relevant community events and networking opportunities.
- Coordinate Healthix participation in community and industry events.
- Assist with planning and execution of Healthix-sponsored events and educational programs.
- Support recruitment of community partners and stakeholders for Healthix initiatives.
- Conduct research on community health trends, organizations, and emerging issues.
- Gather and organize information about community needs, resources, and partnerships.
- Track engagement activities and prepare summary reports.
- Maintain and update stakeholder and community partner databases.
- Manage contact lists and outreach records to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare correspondence, event materials, and outreach communications.
- Assist in soliciting sponsorships, donations, and in-kind contributions.
- Support donor and sponsor relationship management activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with community-based organizations, advocacy groups, constituent services, public affairs, healthcare, government relations, or nonprofits.
- Experience organizing or supporting community events and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience maintaining databases and tracking outreach activities.
- Experience conducting research and compiling reports and presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable conducting research and collecting data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM or contact management systems is a plus.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.
- Availability to attend evening and weekend community meetings and events.
Education
College degree not required; relevant work or volunteer experience preferred and may substitute for formal education.
