Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern supports the Development Department by assisting with community engagements, volunteer management, communications, and handling in-kind donations while gaining insight into nonprofit operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with managing social media content and partnership highlights
- Analyze trends on Facebook and e-communications and compile reports
- Maintain Constant Contact contact lists and research influencer engagement
- Support volunteer program operations including onboarding and data collection
- Manage volunteer records ensuring completion of necessary documentation
- Create and distribute volunteer opportunities and recruitment initiatives
- Assist with documentation, organization, and distribution of in-kind donations
- Track in-kind donations and maintain wishlists on platforms such as Amazon and Purposity
- Maintain and update donor records in Salesforce
- Follow up with donors for documentation and appreciation
- Research new corporate and community partnerships to increase donations
- Assist with planning and execution of gift giving campaigns
- Assist in thrift stores with social media strategy and postings
- Attend program participants’ graduations and other events
- Engage with other departments and staff
- Attend awareness events, speaking engagements, prospect and partner meetings when appropriate
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social-work, media, retail management, business, or related field
- Strong passion for nonprofit work aligning with the organization’s mission
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
