Director of Community Engagement - Job Summary
The Director of Community Engagement leads regional growth initiatives in Columbus and surrounding markets by managing partnerships, overseeing outreach and sales teams, and driving service utilization for behavioral health and substance use disorder recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute regional growth plans based on market analysis
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with healthcare and community organizations
- Serve as primary ambassador for partners in Columbus and statewide
- Hire, train, and manage community engagement and outreach teams
- Set and oversee regional outreach goals, KPIs, and sales quotas
- Manage regional outreach budgets and forecast sales pipelines
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies
- Conduct targeted client and provider recruitment
- Support peer recovery supporters in placement and certification
- Coordinate and participate in community events and advocacy forums
- Engage with local boards and advocacy groups to promote service utilization
- Track referral sources and outreach outcomes in CRM/EHR and report results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent leadership experience
- 4+ years progressive experience in partnership development, community engagement, account management, or healthcare sales
- 2+ years supervisory or management experience
- Strong background in behavioral health or substance use disorder recovery preferred
- Professional relationships within Columbus healthcare community preferred
- Knowledge of Ohio Medicaid behavioral health system and referral management preferred
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance required
- Technical proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), Google Suite, and EHRs
- Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
